La galer\u00eda Le Laboratoire se complace en presentar { insula }, muestra colectiva que concentra y confronta obras principalmente realizadas durante el periodo de confinamiento. La \u00ednsula (o corteza insular) es una estructura del cerebro humano ubicada en la profundidad de la parte lateral del cerebro. El l\u00f3bulo de la \u00ednsula sirve como un centro de red, que integra informaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de subregiones. La \u00ednsula es una de estas subregi\u00f3nes populares en neurociencia cognitiva, y se ha estudiado su papel en la toma de decisiones, el procesamiento emocional y la atenci\u00f3n.<\/h3>

\u201cCuando mi exhibici\u00f3n en el Museo de la Universidad Berkeley fue cerrada (por el director, no por los estudiantes) y reemplazada por una exhibici\u00f3n de carteles de protesta, el director hizo una declaraci\u00f3n que comenzaba as\u00ed: \u00abAhora no es momento de ver arte, sino de acabar con la guerra de Vietnam y la represi\u00f3n en el pa\u00eds.\u201c Camboya tuvo que ser invadida para que tomaran conciencia de una guerra que hab\u00eda durado siete a\u00f1os, de un racismo terrible y de una represi\u00f3n feroz. Aparte de esta ceguera pol\u00edtica que hab\u00eda durado tanto tiempo, era adem\u00e1s inconcebible que las personas responsables de la gesti\u00f3n de un museo pudieran decidir cu\u00e1ndo se le permitiera al p\u00fablico ver arte. Cinco meses despu\u00e9s, con la guerra a\u00fan en curso, la represi\u00f3n a\u00fan en su apogeo, la misma direcci\u00f3n organiz\u00f3 brillantemente la inauguraci\u00f3n de su nuevo museo. La oportunidad era demasiado buena; les envi\u00e9 un telegrama: \u00abAhora no es momento de ver arte. \u00a1Buena suerte!\u00bb \u201cL\u00b4art \u00e0 bicyclette et la r\u00e9volution \u00e0 cheval\u201d, Pol Bury. \u00bfQui\u00e9n es consciente del tumulto interior que surge dentro de nosotros y la explosi\u00f3n de sustancias que nos golpean cuando estamos enfrente de una obra de arte ? Quien realiza que despierta muchos neurotransmisores y analg\u00e9sicos en nuestro cerebro? El informe(1)<\/em> de la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud publicado el 11 de noviembre 2019, basado en las evidencias de m\u00e1s de 900 publicaciones, confirma que el arte puede ser beneficioso para la salud, tanto f\u00edsica como mental. Puede tratar, entre otros cosas, complicados problemas de salud como la diabetes, la obesidad y las enfermedades mentales. Ir a museos y conciertos, bailar, cantar ofrece un factor adicional sobre c\u00f3mo podemos mejorar la salud f\u00edsica y mental. Se ha descubierto, por ejemplo, que practicar actividades art\u00edsticas reduce los efectos secundarios del tratamiento contra el c\u00e1ncer, entre los que incluyen la somnolencia, la insuficiencia respiratoria y las n\u00e1useas. Se ha demostrado, por otra parte, que bailar proporciona mejoras cl\u00ednicamente significativas en las funciones motrices para las personas con la enfermedad de Parkinson.<\/h3>

En su ultimo libro \u201cEl Arte que cura\u201d(2)<\/em>, Pierre Lemarquis, neur\u00f3logo y experto en medicina china, analiza los lazos existentes entre el cerebro y el arte, recorriendo tanto los arcanos como los desv\u00edos, ya comprobados, de un placer conocido como \u00abempat\u00eda est\u00e9tica\u201d. En una entrevista al peri\u00f3dico Le Monde del 22 de octubre 2020, Lemarquis afirma: \u201cEl cerebro tiene dos funciones. Nos permite seguir vivos y nos da ganas de vivir. Estos dos sistemas son complementarios y necesarios. Una computadora nunca podr\u00e1 reemplazarlo. Una obra de arte aborda ambas facultades de nuestro cerebro. Ella lo esculpe, mostr\u00e1ndole lo que no sabe. Ella lo acaricia, d\u00e1ndole placer y recompensa. Este fen\u00f3meno ha sido ampliamente estudiado en la m\u00fasica, y hemos demostrado que tambi\u00e9n opera en el campo de las artes visuales.\u201d Esta comprobado que al observar una obra de arte que nos \u201cgusta\u201d, el estr\u00e9s disminuye porque su producci\u00f3n de cortisol (la hormona que se usa para despertarse por la ma\u00f1ana y actuar) disminuye. El coraz\u00f3n late con menos rapidez, el cuerpo se relaja, mientras que el cerebro (por placer y recompensa) secreta dopamina (la hormona de la alegr\u00eda por la vida). M\u00e1s a\u00fan, las endorfinas (que dan la impresi\u00f3n de bienestar) y la oxitocina (hormona del apego y el amor), sobre las cuales se ha demostrado su efecto cuando uno escucha m\u00fasica – podr\u00eda, por extensi\u00f3n, ser parte del arsenal qu\u00edmico que se despliega en nosotros frente a una obra de arte. Unos ejemplos: desde el 2018, m\u00e9dicos canadienses aconsejan a sus pacientes que sufren depresi\u00f3n, diabetes o enfermedades cr\u00f3nicas visitar museos y galer\u00edas, con fines terap\u00e9uticos. Dicha iniciativa, impulsado por el Museo de Bellas Artes de Montr\u00e9al y la asociaci\u00f3n M\u00e9dicos Franc\u00f3fonos de Canada (MFDC) le da la posibilidad a los pacientes de visitar gratuitamente dicho museo, con su \u201creceta museal\u201d. En Paris, algunos m\u00e9dicos del Instituto de Cardiolog\u00eda Piti\u00e9-Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re pueden recetar tambi\u00e9n visitas a museos. En el hospital Lyon-Sud, los pacientes que lo deseen pueden elegir una obra para colgarla en su habitaci\u00f3n. De la misma manera que un libro puede hacer tanto bien como un antidepresivo, algo a lo que aferrarse en momentos de sufrimiento proporciona el equilibrio necesario para la curaci\u00f3n. En la actualidad, varios pa\u00edses est\u00e1n estudiando planes de prescripci\u00f3n art\u00edstica y social.<\/h3>

Los museos y galer\u00edas de arte son espacios privilegiados de la empat\u00eda est\u00e9tica, que llevan m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de s\u00ed mismo. \u00abEl filosofo alem\u00e1n Robert Vischer (inventor de la simpat\u00eda est\u00e9tica o empat\u00eda) explic\u00f3 el sentimiento que se experimenta frente a una obra\u201d, recuerda Pierre Lemarquis, compartiendo la convicci\u00f3n de que \u201ctodo el mundo se convierte en la obra que observa\u201d. Cualquier sea su percepci\u00f3n _sensible, qu\u00edmica o cognitiva_ se siente y se experimenta a si mismo. En el caso especifico de las artes visuales, Lemarquis afirma que la activaci\u00f3n inicial se refiere a la zona posterior del cerebro (l\u00f3bulo occipital), que descifra la informaci\u00f3n visual (forma, colores, etc.). Un \u00e1rea cercana que detecta informaci\u00f3n \u00abbiol\u00f3gica\u00bb se activa cuando se trata de arte figurativo: en el caso de la Mona Lisa, nuestros cerebros reaccionan como si nos encontr\u00e1ramos con una Mona Lisa real. Para el arte no figurativo, nuestro cerebro reproduce los gestos del artista, los trazos de un c\u00fater en un lienzo de Lucio Fontana, por ejemplo.<\/h3>

Cuando volvemos a ver la misma obra, el fen\u00f3meno evoluciona: colgado en la pared de nuestra casa, el objeto adquiere una dimensi\u00f3n intima; despu\u00e9s de la seducci\u00f3n (o del temblor interior) inicial, se instala cierto apego y te conviertes un poco en la obra con la que vives, que se transforma a su imagen (y viceversa). Muchos mensajes pueden descodificarse sin llegar necesariamente a la conciencia. Lo que circula entre el espectador y la obra es lo esencial y constituye la esencia misma del camino. \u201cEn este per\u00edodo de encierro en particular, _dice Lemarquis_ el cerebro recibe bien la informaci\u00f3n, pero de forma atenuada como en una comunicaci\u00f3n a distancia (\u00a1o en caso de distanciamiento social!). Tienes que confiar en tu imaginaci\u00f3n y tus recuerdos para que surjan nuevas historias, para que un nuevo Decameron emerja del confinamiento, como durante la Peste Negra en Florencia alrededor de 1350.\u00bb<\/h3>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Who is aware of the inner turmoil that arises within us and the explosion of substances that hit us when we \u00absee\u00bb a work of art? Who realizes that it awakens many neurotransmitters and painkillers in our brain? The World Health Organization report published on November 11, 2019, based on the evidence from more than 900 publications, confirms that art can be beneficial for health, both physical and mental. It can treat, among other things, complicated health problems such as diabetes, obesity, and mental illness. Going to museums and concerts, dancing, singing offers an additional factor on how we can improve physical and mental health. For example, doing artistic activities has been found to reduce the side effects of cancer treatment, including drowsiness, shortness of breath, and nausea. Furthermore, dancing has been shown to provide clinically significant improvements in motor functions for people with Parkinson’s disease. In his latest book \u00abThe Art that Heals\u00bb, Pierre Lemarquis, neurologist and expert in Chinese medicine, analyzes the links between the brain and art, covering both the arcana and the deviations, already proven, of a pleasure known as \u00abempathy esthetic\u201d. In an interview with Le Monde newspaper on October 22, 2020, Lemarquis states: \u201cThe brain has two functions. It allows us to stay alive and makes us want to live. These two systems are complementary and necessary. A computer can never replace it. A work of art addresses both faculties of our brain. She sculpts him, showing him what he doesn’t know. She caresses him, giving him pleasure and reward. Specifically, since 2018, Canadian doctors have advised their patients suffering from depression, diabetes or chronic diseases to visit museums and galleries, for therapeutic purposes. This initiative, promoted by the Montr\u00e9al Museum of Fine Arts and the French-speaking Doctors Association of Canada (MFDC) gives patients the opportunity to visit the museum for free, with their \u201cmuseum prescription\u201d.
